Kick off Valentine’s Day weekend with the 80s classic Pretty In Pink when the beloved John Hughes and Molly Ringwald classic returns to the big screen for a 35th Anniversary screening! Andie (Molly Ringwald) is an outcast at her Chicago high school, hanging out either with her older boss (Annie Potts), who owns the record store where she works, or her quirky classmate Duckie (Jon Cryer), who has a crush on her. When one of the rich and popular kids at school, Blane (Andrew McCarthy), asks Andie out, it seems too good to be true. As Andie starts falling for Blane, she begins to realizes that dating someone from a different social sphere is not easy. Get ready to reminisce with the film that features classic 80s hits “Pretty In Pink” by the Psychedelic Furs, “If You Leave” by Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark, “Left of Center” by Suzanne Vega (ft. This special anniversary event includes a featurette where director Howard Deutch reflects on the emotional twists of bringing Pretty in Pink to the screen, beginning with his friendship with Writer/Executive Producer John Hughes to the contested original-ending’s unsuccessful test screening.
