Brian Fallon is best known as the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and main lyricist of the 2000’s New Jersey-based indie rock band, the Gaslight Anthem. With his latest solo album, Local Honey, Fallon has created a softer sound unlike anything he or the Gaslight Anthem have ever released. The album’s acoustic-leaning, introspective, singer-songwriter artistry is a benchmark of a time and place, a heartfelt and grown-up sound that has been in his mind and heart for a while. Local Honey is a snapshot of Fallon’s current existence and a masterstroke from an artist with immense songwriting talent. As Fallon put it, he is leaving his rockstar days behind him. After nearly 20 years of being with the Gaslight Anthem, Fallon is taking the time to explore more stripped-down sounds in his writing and enjoying a quieter life with his family. Rolling Stone Magazine refers to Local Honey as a “snapshot… of an artist at peace with both settling into middle age and making a new beginning.”
